I’m really struggling to get back into a good routine. I’ve missed posts for no other reason than I just can’t bring myself to do anything productive. I think having my entire life turned upside down for a few months really put me in a bad place.
Hopefully I can slowly bring in some good habits and put my life back together. Having said that…
My printer has been working overtime and I’ve been printing non-stop. I’ve made some magic the gathering boxes for friends and I.

I’ve also been designing a duster holder. Mine broke and I wanted to print a replacement but it turns out there are different standards fro different countries.

I first printed this which looked great online, but it wasn’t really optimised from 3D printing. I think it was one of those designers who didn’t end up printing it.

So I decided to try and design my own.
Because I have a small bed, I wanted to design something with threads so I could screw it on after. Here are all the iterations I made on the design. Still a lot left to do, but it’s getting there.

I’ve had a few hiccups with my prints. You can see the failed prints above, but aside form that some other klipper issues. Turns out that blob one is the best design so far.
When you use klipper, you define the printer’s parameters with a printer configuration file. This file is where you define other common operations. For example, if your filament runs out, you can set a macro to park the head, and wait for you to change it.
I’m really glad the base configuration file for my printer doesn’t include any of these macros. So I’ll only get a successful print if everything goes right. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

On the list of todos is to setup some macros on my printer. I’ll put it right under making an actual todo list.
No much on this front other than I found some maps I wanted to use. I still need to plan out the final area and add in characters who will be attending the party.
I wanted to host a Hat in Time themed party because I absolutely love that game. I revisited the game 4 times already.
My plan was a little dress up, cake looking like a top hat, and play through the game (it has co-op) on the big screen.

I made a 3 layered cake (vanilla, strawberry, and banana). I started shaping it in the form of her purple top hat, but decided not to finish it as most people couldn’t make it. (I feel very loved, most found time to come)

The astute among you would have notice my subtle allusions to my declining motivation.

I don’t really know how to overcome it (yet), but my goal is the following:
I’m hoping to reduce but not erase games and social things.

Have you ever found yourself lacking motivation or direction? If you’ve tried to overcome it, what helped? (and I guess if you have any advice, please leave it in my guestbook)
